Do we listen to everyone in the same way? Or do we modify our attention and our judgments according to the color of their skin, their sex, religion, or even their profession, socio-economic status, the way they speak, their confidence? socioeconomic status, the way they speak, their self-assurance?

(From) Where Are We Listening?
It is a sound work where I read a text, I use field recordings and play music with synthesizers. The text talk about different experiences of racism that I have lived or have witnessed, since I live in Geneva, Switzerland. All the experiences I describe in the text have to do with sound, with the voice, with listening. I ask questions that invite us to question who we listen to, and why? Who do we let speak, and why? Who do we ignore or keep silent, and why? Most of the field recordings that I want to use where recorded in the same places where those experiences happened: on a train, on a boat, near a river, on the street at night...
