Viktoria Nikolova
Viktoria Nikolova is a singer, performer, sound artist and curator from Sofia, Bulgaria, based in the Netherlands. Her work deals with topics of mediation within artistic processes, and theory where she seeks liminality between the disciplines and the physical/audible space. She integrates her findings with sound and vocal improvisation practices, currently developing a sensorial instrument engaging with ecological topics of displacement and new methods of mapping. Viktoria collaborates regularly with various composers and ensembles in the Netherlands and abroad, working in multidisciplinary environments. She is currently pursuing a degree in Arts, Media and Society at Leiden University where she is curator at Kunstgang. She is also following a One-Year Course at the Institute of Sonology. Viktoria obtained a Master degree in classical singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2017. During her studies she conducted an artistic research on Bulgarian folklore singing which led to the foundation of her vocal trio Bitter Blossoms.
