"Non Prodotto" represents the culmination of an intricate compositional journey marked by diverse recording sessions employing an array of improvisational techniques and electroacoustic manipulations on many musical instruments. These sessions served as fertile ground for the creation of an extensive repertoire, comprising 57 succinct pieces, each approximately one minute in duration. From this pool of musical fragments emerged many versions of "Non Prodotto - edit,” a condensed composition that encapsulates the essence of these exploratory
sessions.
Central to this creative endeavor was the deliberate manipulation of time and sound materials. Through techniques such as altering playback speed and layering tracks with extensive use of reverb and cuts, the sonic landscape of "Non Prodotto” was crafted to stimulate auditory perception using also space as a composition/
improvisation parameter.
The title "Non Prodotto" embodies a departure from the commodification of music, rejecting the notion of composition as a mere consumable product. Instead, it serves as a testament to freedom and experimentation, emphasizing the inherent value of creative expression over commercial viability and a manifesto against the chronofagy: the society's constant tendency to appropriate the individual's time in order to make it produce more and more, at any given time.
