Alan Abd El Monim is an Italian-Egyptian multidisciplinary artist. He studied Sound Engineering and Electronic Music at the SAE Institute, Composition for Applied Music at the “Claudio Abbado” Civic School of Music in Milan and composition under the guidance of Massimo Botter. He specialised under the guidance of Jacopo Baboni Schilingi.
His musical research is directed towards Art Music, dedicating himself to Composition and the interaction between the Arts. In 2017 he won the Silenzio Musica International Composition Competition; in 2020, the President and Artistic Director Diploma at the Winterreise International Composition Competition in Moscow, in 2021, the Call For Scores banned by the Cultural Association Executors of Metal on Paper.
He has collaborated with artists of various disciplines; he composed pieces for a personal exhibition of the Artist Giovanni Oberti. In 2020 he began a collaboration with the Poet Milo De Angelis, setting to music the lyric “A volte, sull’orlo della notte, si rimane sospesi” taken from the collection “Alfabeto del momento”, has written music for various theatrical performances by director Emily Tartamelli, has been invited as a musical artist to participate in the collective exhibition “Instructions to Light-Keepers”, has collaborated with various film directors. Music by him has been performed in reviews and festivals among: Musica d’arte, Riccione; Luci d’Artista, Salerno.
