Amanda Rice and Jo Pester
Amanda Rice is a visual artist based between Mayo and Belfast. She makes moving image works centred around ideas of geological extraction, technology and archive. Forthcoming presentations include solo shows at South Tipperary Arts Centre and Expo Chicago (2025). Her recent film travelled with aemi’s 2024 touring programme ‘Spirit Messages’ and the 2024 BFI Film Festival. She has exhibited at ‘Publics’, Helsinki (2024) Metroland Cultures Gallery, London (2023) SIRIUS Arts Centre, Cobh (solo 2023). She received the Next Generation Award from the Arts Council in 2019 and the UCL Edward Allington Memorial Prize in 2018.
Jo Pester (b. 1992, Bristol) is a Bristol based artist working with video, sound and installation. Embodied listening, misinterpretations and failed communications inhabit much of Jo’s current work. She has an upcoming duo show at South Tipperary Arts Centre, and has presented work internationally including at Exposed Arts Projects (London); The Unlikely Journal for Creative Arts (online); Raven Row Gallery (London): Ecofutures Festival (London); and the BF Artist Film Festival IX in London and Lancaster. In 2018 she completed an MA in Fine Art Media from the Slade School of Fine Art.
