Johannes Christopher Gerard

Born in Cologne, Germany. Currently reside in The Hague, Netherlands. Works as interdisciplinary and multimedia artist.
Studied at Applied School of Printmaking and Design , Cologne, Germany and at Dun Laogharie School of Art and Design, (IDAT) Dublin, Ireland.
Until today lived and worked in different countries in Europe, Far East, North and South Americas, West Africa and Australia.
Since completing his training, he has regularly participated in exhibitions, projects, video and sound art events, including throughout Europe, the Near and Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Far East, Australia, Africa, Central America, and North and South America.
Through the collaboration in 2014 with dancer Tsai Hsin-Ying (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) and performance artist Kao Yi (Tainan, Taiwan)during the “Silent Crossing Border” project at Soulangh Culture Park in Tainan, Taiwan starts conducting first video films and performance pieces. From this project on his work and artistic visions began to focus on interdisciplinary, multi media and collaboration projects.
Since 2014 to the present day, regular collaborative projects have been carried out with artists from the fields of visual and performing arts, musicians, poets, educators and scientists from various cultural backgrounds.
In 2022, he participated in “Acoustic Interiors,” a sound project implemented by German sound artist Anne Wellmer in The Hague, Netherlands. Until this project, he had never explored sound as an independent medium. Up until then, he had always associated sound with his video works and not considered it a separate and equal medium.
