  • About S.22 (2026, 15 min. mp3)
Memory, grief, and resilience. S.22 approaches these concepts in a melancholic way, exploring the
concept of time. It's about perceiving the world from a melancholic perspective. It's about
relationships, things, and environments that are lost forever or nearly lost—with little chance of
    recovery, healing, or rebuilding.
We also understand memory as a complex function composed of two opposing elements:
remembering and forgetting. Does memory truly exist? Or is it an unconscious act of avoidance, the
recollection of a traumatic event? How do we remember? Do we remember through our senses or
through our bodies? Is remembering a perception of the mind or the heart? What is remembering?
But there are also encompass moments when we can experience happiness and relaxation.
Yet these moments, too, are fleeting and fade with time. This work also reflects autobiographical
elements. My personal experiences with chronic mental illness, hearing problems, and other health
issues in the past influence my work. I approach the world of sounds, rhythms, and music in a different
way. Under certain circumstances, the chaotic situations, sounds, voices, and visions in my mind can
create a temporary space where things behave, act, and interact differently, and do not obey the
normal rules of everyday life. This sound piece is composed to follow a recurring pattern, beat, and
rhythm. The calm and slow rhythm avoids any stimuli that could trigger chaos in my mind and hearing,
and allows me to remember better times.
