Layers of squeaks, bleeps, sine waves, pulses and crisp-edged rumbles ebb and fade, painting textured landscapes- sometimes quite thick, like in the opening title track, or sometimes sparser, such as in the gradual builds of “Ignis Fatuus”. There are strong shades of retro analogue tone that recalls 60’s avantgarde or Radiophonic work- especially in the bubbly and squelchy “Warbling Static”, which breaks into multiple chapters like a sci-fi soundtrack suite. But to a lesser extent it also has that modern, sharp-edged arhythmic glitchy and digital tone at times.

The track that really held my attention was “Stationary waves”, thanks to a high level of dynamism, with the volume of the whole piece fading and rising, sometimes quite sharply, while the pulses also rise and fall- waves upon waves, sometimes tense, sometimes more relaxed, with added percussive echoes and low industrial tones to boot. It’s the track with the most character of the set.

It’s a strong piece of modular experimentation, and while it does feel like it revels in the past rather than pushing anything forward, it’s still a very worthwhile 40-minute listen for any lovers of dark freeform electronics.

Composer, visual and sound artist mainly orientated to avant-garde, experimental music and sound art. Born in Argentina of Austrian origin, his work has received prizes and mentions at many international contests. It is also programmed at numerous festivals around the globe.

As a performer his most recent activities includes a Europe tour were he played a sound art performance interacting with current street sounds. Selected to perform live at the Burning Man European edition and the NYCEMF in 2016, event held by the NY Phil Biennial, where he played a live electroacoustic set. In subsequent years he performed at the SEAMUS National Conference, the NWEAMO Festival and participating in numerous festivals and radio shows around the world like the Earth Day, Evimus, Mutek, Datscha Radio, Undae, OUA-EMF, Muslab and Threads Radio among others.

Founder of Delforus a live project aimed to spread new musical languages. From middle nineties till nowadays he began to compose a vast repertory of avant-garde and acousmatic pieces compiled as a collection of albums released throughout the years.

With the aim of compiling sonic substance and creating new devices from old industrial scrap, he spent several years living into an abandoned factory reconditioned as a sound laboratory. Besides those post-industrial quests he uses to travel around the world documenting sonic and visual material. Combining that stuff with the research of new synthesis methods, his music not only describes pictures, it will transport you to a sort of surreal scenarios, images quite difficult to define.
