Dixie Treichel is a composer, sound artist, radio broadcaster, experimental instrument maker and sound designer. She is a sonic explorer who likes creating with any and all sounds. Her sonic textures invite the listener on a journey into the unknown. She creates acousmatic works, experimental sound art, radio art, field recordings, radio portraits and documentaries, theatrical sound design, community radio shows, and collaborates with artists in multidisciplinary fields. Her work has been heard internationally on radio, in art galleries, sound art festivals, new music concerts, theaters, film and streaming festivals. She is an award-winning radio documentary producer and sound designer for theater.
