Guitarist and sound artist Leonie Roessler spent a week in Granada in November 2026 with her close friend, colleague, and collaborator Roberto Vilela. Days of artistic exploration,
introspection, field recording, and collaborating with the Radio of the University of Granada. Leonie took a walk in search of guitar luthiers in the city and ended up at the legendary Casa Ferrer, where she interviewed Ana Duran Ferrer - luthier in fourth generation and the first woman in her line. This piece is a small portrait of her as well as a sound portrait of the city. (The instruments heard in the field recording are not associated with Casa Ferrer.)

Leonie Roessler

Leonie Roessler is a guitarist and sound artist. She studied classical guitar at the Los Angeles
City College with Charles Suovenen. Now she is a guitar teacher herself, for Vivaldi Muziek in
Den Haag. In Granada she thought of him often. And she realized that whatever life throws at
her feels much more manageable when she sits down with one of her guitars.
