Josué Amador
Josué Amador is a sound artist, composer, educator, and researcher based in Rotterdam. With a strong grounding in sound studies, experimental music, and notions of improvisation, Amador’s practice reflects a keen interest in exploring the social, cultural, and political dimensions of sound and its impact on human perception. Sonic journalism and the study of urban acoustic communities are key elements of his research, which manifests in performances, installations, lectures, sound art, and writing.
Josué Amador holds a PhD in Music Composition and Theory from the Academy of Music in Kraków, Poland, and a Master’s in Composition from Codarts University for the Arts in the Netherlands. He currently works as a lecturer and researcher at Codarts, the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA), and the Rotterdam Arts and Sciences Lab.
